The Secret to Juicy Oven Baked Chicken

Two Words: Cold Oven. You either know what I’m talking about or you don’t, so here’s the scoop. I was raised to always PRE-HEAT my oven any time I’m cooking anything. This step has been ingrained in me since childhood. BUT NO MORE! Now, when I cook any type of meat in the oven, I put it in before I even turn the oven on! I don’t know the science behind it, but my chicken comes out so juicy that I am never turning back!

The Steps

I’m sure every one has their own way to cook chicken, but these are the steps I take to make the juiciest chicken I’ve ever tasted.

1. Line cooking sheet with aluminum foil and place chicken on cookie sheet.

2. Coat chicken with extra virgin olive oil and seasoning of your choice.

3. Place chicken in the oven and close the oven door.

4. Set oven to 450 and cook chicken for 30 minutes.

Extra Tips

Always make sure your chicken is at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit. I love using a digital thermometer (get one on Amazon HERE) to make sure my chicken is thoroughly cooked.

I like to use Reynolds Wrap Non-Stick aluminum foil. It just makes my life so much easier.

I’d love to hear your feedback– have you tried this method before? Tell me how your chicken turned out or your secret to making juicy chicken!
